Championship Manager (sometimes referred to as Champ Man or CM) is a series of football management computer games created by Paul and Oliver Collyer. The first game they released was called simply Championship Manager and was published by Domark in September 1992. Around this time, the Collyer brothers formed Sports Interactive, a small software house which would focus on football games - or more specifically, just Championship Manager. Several versions of the game were produced by the Sports Interactive until they split from publishers Eidos in 2004. At this point, Eidos retained the rights to the CM brand with Sports Interactive keeping the game's code. Eidos have continued to produce Championship Manager games via in-house developers Beautiful Game Studios.
